Cupar Arts is an arts organisation who present contemporary visual art in a rural context hosting a biannual arts festival which takes place for twelve days in October.
In 2009 we were commissioned by Cupar Arts to implement our project Yuck ‘n Yum Distribution Unit, a tongue and cheek project which gave away free art mimicking large corporations tactics of marketing new products.
We commissioned 12 artists (including the yny team) to create 100 free limited-run special edition artworks ranging from pots of marmalade to prints.

The works were distributed to the general public by the Yuck ‘n Yum Art Distribution Agents (YYADA for short). The distribution team was comprised of volunteers, who shuttled between the festival venues, each easily identifiable by their Yuck ‘n Yum branded skip hat, knapsack and sunny disposition. The agents handed out the free art whilst informing the public of the ‘artist of the day’ and the festival. At the end of the day each YYADA had to record their experience and encounters with the public on a blog which can still be found here: Cupar09.yucknyum.org

The artists were: Luke Collins, Sanna Dyker, Derek Lodge, Anna Orton, Sam Spreckley, Andrew Maclean, Amy Todman, Kevin McPhee, Nadia Rossi, Ben Robinson, Ewan Manson and Gayle Meikle.
